BRINGING
HOPE COMFORT and SUPPORT where there is only DESPAIR (KENYA)
YOU
CAN MAKE A DIRECT PERSONAL IMPACT IN THE LIFE OF AN ORPHAN OR CHILD
OF A FAMILY IN POVERTY
THANKS to sponsors, Orphan-girl Melvyne (now age 21) graduated from
Secondary School in November 2007. With the help of kind Sponsors
in the UK, Melvyne is now going on to medical college.
We
have sponsors for 18 NURSERY pupils (ages 4 to 7); six PRIMARY pupils
(aged 11 to 17); and seven SECONDARY pupils (aged 15 to 21)
The
Academic Year in Kenya is from JANUARY to NOVEMBER
MANY MORE SPONSORS ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED FOR VERY MANY OTHER
ORPHANS who are currently EXCLUDED from School, because they
have NO money for School Fees and desperately need Sponsors NOW.
One very bright total-Orphan boy started Form 1 of Secondary school
in January 2008 but was sent home because a sponsor was not found
by 31st March 2006.
You
can sponsor three orphans in Nursery School or two in Primary School
, or one in Secondary School for the same annual amount of £330.
You
will be given receipts with a guarantee, photographs of your Orphan(s),
three School reports each year, letters from your Orphan(s), Progress
Reports, and Video messages once per year.
Please
ask for a list of Orphans who desperately need sponsors, so you
can select one, giving your preferences (eg, age, sex, nursery /
primary / secondary).
Enabling
self-reliance: it is the Policy of Abundance Ministries to enable
people to provide for themselves (give them a tool to dig rather
than give food). Single-parent Eunice has five children aged 2 to
11; instead of Abundance Ministries providing for them, including
their education, we have sponsored Eunice through Polytechnic, so
she can provide for them and have some self-respect and self-worth.
She graduates in November 2008 with her Diploma in Electronic Engineering.
Abundance Ministries has a bank account dedicated for School fees
ONLY.
You
can pay either:
- ANNUALLY
(currently £330) in late-November
- MONTHLY
by Standing Order £25
Fees are paid DIRECT to the Schools in JANUARY;
NO Government or Administration department is involved
Fees may increase due to inflation and unplanned costs
OUR
GUARANTEE
Of
every £1 received into this Charity/Ministry, 100p
goes into the work.
In Kenya, our Vice-Chairman/Nursery School Manager, four Teachers
and one Classroom Assistant, Orphans-Care Manager and Cook, are
full-time paid staff, on very modest allowances. There are NO UK
salaries, expenses or commissions. ALL UK Staff (including the full-time
Chairman) are unpaid volunteers. Careful controls and prudence are
maintained in expenditure.
